I've been tasked with a family set, two parents and two kids, one of which is just over a year old and the other about 4/5. I need ideas for poses and fun ideas along with some more formal shots.

I'll be taking these in a very modern, concrete area. The new Vancouver convention centre area. There is also an area with a grassy field near by so I should have the best of both worlds...

Examples of photos would be great :)

If you go on flickr and search through the groups it would give you a plenty of ideas. This one has tons of pix: http://www.flickr.com/groups/familypictures/

For such a small child, you'll probably be best off having mom sit with the baby across her lap. Have the 5 yr old standing on the side, with dad behind and to the other side.

For head shots you could probably get away with mom holding the baby from underneath, but getting everyone into the frame while not being too wide will be tough. vary the combinations and that will help
