Being a member of an Astronomy club and owning a 20D just makes you want to take photos of objects in space. I have taken a few pic's of bright objests, ( moon, Peades, constelations, etc) thru the lens of my 13" Dob but for faint objests you just have to have a tracking telescope. This week I lost the battle over whether to spend more money or not. I ordered the newest Celestron CPC 8" computerized GOTO telescope with attachments to mount the 20D for Prime focus. I will do high power eyepiece projection later. This will give me 2032mm focal length and tracking ability. later I will add the equitorial wedge for better tracking on long exsposure photography. I guess I just grew tired of flower pic's :) Now where can I find a few extra $$$ to pay for it?

Damn retirements fun!!:) I'm just having trouble affording it!

Following your stories makes me realize that I may never be able to retire. I doubt that I can afford all the free time. Ouch.

PS: I love that statement!! :) How true it is!
"You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers."

Hey, Jerry! I wondered where you disappeared to!
"I guess I just grew tired of flower pic's..." I never got tired of yours!
Here are a few links I ran across today that might interest you:

Image Stacker can also be used to reduce the appearance of "digital noise" in images created by digital cameras or scanners, and create "synthesized long-exposures" without overexposure.

Thanks for the compliment. Flower season is here again so I will probably take few :) The program I will be using for stacking is "Registax" Lots of astro photographers use it. It takea a bunch of PC horse power though with large resolution pic's. :) One job I stacked took 5 hours ! 50 pic's. Still didn't turn out because I didn't track right. Maybe this newer scope will do a better job.

I didn't understand half of what you said except that you are spending lots of money. I look forward to seeing your shots with the new toys.

Great hobby but it can add up:rolleyes:
