Hello:

I am still trying (with no luck) to get a copy of the EOS viewer utility for my 1D. I bought this camera used and it didn't come with any of the software CD's. I have since discovered that I cannot download this utility from Canon's website (they only have the upgrade) and without it I can't go into the camera and change tone-curves. If anyone has this utility (either from a 1D disk or similiar), I would greatly appreciate a copy. For the moderators........if this is copyright infringement, I will retract this thread and try and contact someone Canon Canada.

Thanks (email is thouse@3web.net)

I have my 1D and can get into the camera by going to My Computer... and at the bottom you will see your 1D camera icon. Can you see your camera icon when you are hooked up to your firewire? If so, then click on it and it will open...look to the left and you will see Camera Tasks...click on Show camera properties and it will open up what you need to help put curves in and change settings and such...OH...I am using winXP...so, if it another application like win2000 or Mac then, I am sorry I cannot be of any help. Hope that helps.

The EVU program that you download from the Canon web site is the full blown version of the program, not just an update. The only catch is that in order to install EVU, you need a previous version of EVU or any version of the Canon File Viewer Utility (FVU). Any FVU from any Canon digital camera will do, even a P&S camera.
