I couldn't find this mentioned anywhere else:
FxIF is a Firefox extension that allows users see a photographs EXIF info by right clicking on the image:
http://ted.mielczarek.org/code/mozilla/fxif/
I find this very useful for quickly checking what settings someone used to get a particular shot.

That's a pretty handy little tool, thanks for sharing it! Yet another reason to ditch IE

Thank you very much!
I had one of these for IE and missed not having it in FF.
This one even works better than the one for IE!

Firefox seems pretty popular on this forum, I think more than 2 of us will be taking advantage of it :)
Even if only two of us mention it.

Well I think the usefullness of this on websites are kind of limited since most people remove the exif information when posting photos on the web.

Take a look at the pictures posted in this forum. I'd say you'll be surprised how many contain exif information.

Checked 5 random photos. 1 in 5 had exif info.

If I were you then, I'd not be interested in this product. I guess I just hit the lucky ones, so it seems like a good deal for me, though I am looking for info about the pictures, not proving a point.

Now if only he would make those "possible to-do's" once and I would be happy with it. Exif is not really important for me but iptc would be... mainly for my personal photos since my "software" is web based.

if the picture has been saved correctly for webuse {smallest size, whilst maintaining quality}, then usually the EXIF info is removed.
Photoshop "save for web" removes the EXIF info.
just in case you wonder why it does not always work

Fxif is a good extension for different OS, but it only provides limited and simply Exif info in image.
Everybody can try IExif 2.0 (http://www.opanda.com/en/iexif/download.htm) to find detailed Exif data in local image file, IE or Firefox by right-clicking image. It only run with MS Windows OS. But it is a so powerful tool.

Firefox rocks. I use it all the time. I still need IE for some stuff at work, though.
