PJ Harvey + John Parish

I've been a fan of Polly's ever since her debut _Dry_ found my ears, but i'd (shamefully) never seen her perform until a few weeks ago. However, this tour was w/ her sometime-partner John Parish, and for their two collaborative records he provides the music while PJ sings and writes lyrics. Still, a fine fine show; she's not a classic beauty but damn is she sexy.

The shooting conditions were a little odd...there were only 3 other shooters, and we were broken into groups of two. the 1st group got to shoot songs 4 and 5, and the 2nd (of which I was a part of) had songs 9 and 10. The lighting could have been better...

I like #3, 5 and 6.

#2 is too blown IMO, #7 isn't too flattering and #8 is a bit too static IMO.

stories from the city is a record i come back to time and time again. i've never seen her before either and damn i will be there to shoot this john parish tour when it gets to oz!!

I really like #3, #5 and #6... none of the other shots of PJ really stand out to me as being all that flattering but those three shots are really nice.

So very jealous you got to shoot her. I'd leap at the chance to shoot her live... quite a fan here.

thanks for the feedback, all. yeah, shooting songs 9 and 10 (one of which was the low-key 'california' where she really didn't move much at all) was a bit odd, but you adapt to what you're given.

PJ's got a fairly large mouth and predominant nose, so the use of the term 'flattering' might mean to de-accentuate those some how?

man she is a fox, I just dont think that shooting anyone from the pitt "straight up the nose" is going to be flattering for Beyonce either....

well i guess i'd argue that these aren't 'straight up the nose' but we were not allowed to shoot from behind the barricade either.

What an odd set of restrictions! Contract must have been created on LSD! Nice captures. On the "odd face" thing, I got that with Liza Minnelli ... but it's how she looks quite often!
