Maybe a silly question but I have never seen fungus on a lens, does anyone have any photographs of what it looks like that they can show on the forum, then I and maybe others that have not seen no what to look for (just in case).
:o  :?:

Don't have a picture, but it looks like white clouding, most often in the interior lens elements.
OK, found a lens with 'slight fungus' (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=48556&item=7514554209&rd=1)on eBay, but it's not very visible in the images.
Hard thing is that the keyword 'fungus' is used as in 'NO fungus' in every other lens advert
Best regards,
Andy

Fungus looks like accumulated dirt on the lens, extending in from the edges, but usually between elements where you can't get to it. Cleaning may change the appearance of it, but you'll still see etching left by the fungus. That etching is why fungus is a lens killer.

Most fungus looks like spider web kind of lines inside the glass.
I'll see if i can take a pic of some and post it
There is also a rarer type that looks like a fuzzy white shape
Edit-
Oops no need-here are some online pics

Fungus is not really black as that first image seems to show,it's usually brown green, white or somewhere inbetween those colours
