I'm noticing a lot of baseball shots. Are most stadiums okay with DSLRs? Obviously anyone can bring in a point and shoot.

Anyone go to Turner Field? Do the Braves mind?

CAMERAS/CAMCORDERS
All cameras must be hand held and no longer than 5" in length. No tripods or monopods will be permitted. Hand-held video cameras and still cameras for personal use may be brought into the ballpark, provided no game action is recorded in accordance with Major League Baseball regulations. Please be courteous to those guests around you when taking pictures, the equipment may not obstruct the view of other guests. Camera cases must fit through the bag template and will be inspected prior to entrance into the ballpark. Tripods and monopods are prohibited.

Camden Yards in Baltimore is great and you can bring a 400mm 2.8 on a monopod with no issues. Nationals Park in Washington D.C. is restrictive and the max lens length is 6 inches.

Thank you. I guess I'll have to go measure my XS with the kit lens.

I have an "in" with the Braves organization. I personally now the business manager, and he's alluded to inviting me before.

But I only want to call in that favor once, so I'll have to do it right. And I'd like to do it when, say a big-name team is in town.

Mike, if you can swing $200, get the 55-250 you will need the reach.

I don't want to shoot the game. I'm more interested in the fans and architecture of the stadium.

I'm no longer a big baseball fan (steroids, etc.). I just lost hope in the professional game, but still appreciate the sport, the fans, the scene, and the stadiums.

Anything to put people in the seats I guess.

I'll have to remember that when I go down to a game next time.

First I've heard of a stadium EVER letting a monopod in, let alone a gigantic 400 2.8. Neat.
