Hello all!

Just thought I'd share some photos from my last engagement session... it was a pretty amazing time with an awesome couple!

Thanks for looking and feel free to check out the rest of the session on my blog (http://blog.jyphotography.ca/?p=598)!

Cheers!

so..Ive been looking at alot of the threads in this section, havent commented on really any but I felt as if this one deserves a big thumbs up. Definitely some of the best work in the last 3 pages.

perhaps it's my monitor, but on image #2 there are some blemishes on the girl's forehead. i presume it might be from pp. but as i said, it could just be my monitor.

in anycase i love the coloring and posing for all the images. they look beautiful!

Lovely series of photo's, wonderful clarity and feeling. Just to repeat the question Svetlana asked - what lens did you use?

First set (1-4) looks great. But the 2nd set (5-8) all looks slightly overexposed. Is anyone else seeing this?

You know what's awesome?! When I get up in the morning and check my post from the night before and there's comments!! :D I totally appreciate the time everyone took to look at and comment on my photos!

I found for this entire session, I was either using the 50mm 1.4 or the 70-200 2.8L IS. 1, 2, 3 and 5 were definitely shot using the 50mm... maybe 8 as well. The rest were with the 70-200mm. All of the images were shot fairly wide open and using the 5D.

Thanks!! Glad you liked them!

Totally valid comment! There are some "blemishes" naturally on her forehead. While I do retouch a smidge, I don't like to completely get rid of what's naturally there... if it's a pimple or a bandage (i.e. something temporary), I'll get rid of it but I let my clients know ahead of time that my goal is not to make them look plasticky and perfect in PS (say that 10 times fast! ha!) but to show their awesomeness, minor blemishes and all!

I apologize if that sounded all "you are beautiful no matter what!" but that's what I subscribe to. Now if someone specifically asked me to get rid of something, I would do that for them.

I like to push my exposures to the upper limit but I definitely watch the histogram to make sure the peeps in my images are within exposure. I also make sure I work on a calibrated monitor in PP but the key for me is to watch the histogram.

I really like the background in the first photo.

Nice selection. I wish had those kind around here when I'm shooting.

great set! I think the exposures in the last few, light the above comment, maybe be a smidgen over... but that's just me :P

Great job on all of these. Was this all natural light or were you using some flash?

I really like the look and DOF on #5 - what lens and settings were you using if you don't mind. It looks like the perfect amount of light and bokeh.
