Never used a Pro Model before but my recently purchased 1Ds shows a uniform perfected distributed noise on my both of my lens that I do not see when using with the Rebel? Comes through in the shots too.

I was wondering if it is a product of the enhanced sensor or do I have a dud here? I can't imagine is could be a dirty sensor as uniform as it is but maybe? It seems to get slightly more of a deeper gradient like look around the outer edges. A dark uniform grain thing.

Little worried,

Hannah

What ISO are you set to?

The 1Ds does not handle higher ISO settings as well as the Rebel does.. at lower settings this should not be evident.. but I belive as low as 400ISO you will start to see the difference.

An image-example would be nice. As CDS says the Rebel has an advantage at high ISO compared to the 1Ds Mark I. Double check the ISO, exposure-compensation, and JPEG/RAW quality-settings. The previous owner might also tampered with the C.fn/customfunction (either contrast/saturation could be way high?), you might want to reset the to factory-settings?
