So deciding between two design templates to go with for my website. Two options to choose from, please vote and post up why you chose so if you've got the time.

Personally I don't like either but #1 is better than #2.
Personally I detest flash sites for photographers and I'm not the only one.
77% of buyers surveyed by photoshelter won't often watch a flash slideshow on a photographer's website and 96% get livid when they need to watch a website intro before seeing your images.
I suggest you go to http://www.photoshelter.com/mkt/photo-buyer-survey-2009 and get a copy of the buyer's survey.
There are some other issues I see with your site.
The term Investment is rather confusing - are people buying photography, shares or some get rich quick scheme?
The language is also rather flowery - there's a bit to read but it doesn't really give you any nitty gritty information about your experience as a photographer and what you can deliver to clients.

the logo on the splash page of choice two is a little low in detial, maybe make it vector based so you can blow it up?

Choice 1,
Showing a "splash page" is considered a bad idea, even though so many people continue to do it.
I would probably use a more vibrant red too...
