Hi folks,
1. I have just purchased a D60, one of the lens I have had with my Canon EOS RT does not focus on the D60. It is the SIGMA zoom APO, 70-210mm, f/1:2.8. The camera seems to search for the focus points but unable to lock it. If I switch to manual focus, then it is fine; the focus lights up in the viewfinder whenever its achieve focus. I got this lens about 10 years ago, it is beautiful made in Japan and worked wonderfully with my EOS RT. Does anyone has any idea? And do you have any remedy for this problem ; althought, manual focus is not a bad thing at all.
2. I had heard that I need to format the IBM microdrive card once in a while beside just deleting the images in it. I searched all of the functions from the sofware from Canon CD disk but found nothing about this subject. Also, in the microdrive card box, there is no instruction for this. Any idea?
Your helps would be very much appreciate.
Ian Nguyen.

1. Try to use the center focus point only. Some old Sigma has to bee upgraded, check: http://www.sigmaphoto.com/Html/news/News.htm
2. Yes. But i think this is a good thing for any CF card.

Hi Roine,
I thank you for the super fast reply to my questions, but your answers lead to many more questions...
1. I went to the Web site you mentioned but I could not find anything about this lens. Again, how do you upgrade a lens, by changing or making adjustment to the contacts at the mount? Is that cost a lot of money?
2. I agree with you but how do I format it??? What program or application?
By the way, your English is perfect compare to my French. Are you from France? Thanks again..

Thanks for reply my questions.
How do I format it. Do i need to have another device such as card reader or something like that? Can I leave the card in the camera and format it from there?
Thanks for your help.

leave the card in the camera, use the menu on the D60... scroll down to "format"
read your manual... it's very well written & this camera has too many cool features to disregard.

Hello again
I am from Sweden.
There is two types of formatting, a quick one (the camera way) and a better one done by a separate CF card reader.
If You have a CF card reader, right click on the drive letter in the "My computer" symbol, there You have a format option.
Regarding upgrade, in Sweden the reseller does that for free. The replace the circuit board in the lens.
You see the problem if You take a picture in bright light, the non updated has a timing error that give a far burned out picture due two that the lens doesn’t close the down fast enough

Hi Roine,
Thanks again for your reply,
You mentioned a quick way to format the card (the camera way) but you did not explain how. Sorry, if I seems to be a nuisance on this matter but I really could not find any function on the camera or the software provided by Canon to format the card (the camera way). I appreciate your explaination for other issues. Now, I understand.
Ian Nguyen.
By the way, your Web site is awsome. I really like the way its shows on the Web. Easy to use, simple but rich of contents. How did you have such a large number of pictutres posted? Is the host server does not have any limit regarding sizes? How much you have to pay in Euro? Per month, per year?
Regards.
