this is my second try at shooting a concert, and only grabbed my camera near the end of the show and had to take these shots from behind the stage, obviously limiting the outcome. i'm welcome to any suggestions for processing to salvage these, as well as what to try next time--aside from obviously trying to shoot from in front of the band. :)

tricky to shoot from the back/side of stage only - obviously it limits the angles you can get. regardless, you did good job and if 6 was a tad sharper it would be the pick of the set.
would love to see eric's trip here in oz, but i doubt they would play all the way over here :(

umm, with my xsi i never use the center AF point. for low light should i always use the center point and then recompose?

not sure mate, but i use whatever focus point is necessary for the composition i am looking for. i don't ever use center then recompose - nothing wrong with that method, just not the way i do it... i will use all points if the band is fast moving and locking a certain composition is gonna be too difficult...

yeah, normally i would pick one of the non center points, and zero in on the face of the subject since generally it won't be in the center--i've just read that with the xsi the center AF point is better for tracking subjects in low light...or something along those lines.

i imagine it would be - center point on most bodies is the "best" from what i understand?

i tried to salvage a shot with some curves adjustments, its amazing what you can do sometimes.
