This is my first post. I'm also not very experienced with much more than point-and-shoot photography.

I have a Canon A75 and have gotten some reasonably good shots (IMHO). But I would like to do better.

The manual that comes with the camera has almost no detail on how to use all of its functions. Couple that with the fact that I've had no instruction on photography and don't know anything about f stops and depth of field and such I could use a lot of help.

Can anybody recommend some decent books that will get me started in learning more? I've found some dealing with some of the Rebel cameras but nothing pertaining to the A75. There may not be any that specific, but there might be some good ones that will help me out anyway.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are a lot of helpful books and sites on the Photography Basics (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=53846) sticky in the Talk About Photography forum. Rather than learn a "cookie cutter" recipe for using the specific functions of the A75, you really want to learn the basics of photography. Then you'll be able to understand and apply them to your A75's features.
