These were taken with the Canon ef-s 18-55mm IS.
Thanks for looking and any comments.

Great shots with the kit lens! Your dog is really cute :-)
I'm a fan of your last photo. Nicely executed--nice DOF and focus on the water droplets.

I like the DOF on number 3, but one and two don't do anything for me I'm afraid.

Love number one, not really sure why, it just strikes a chord with me.

wow... great shots with any lens much less a kit lens. Looks like you may have this photgraphy thing down and it may be time to consider moving up to a better lens.

Me too!

Na, not yet. The kit lens is working just fine for me. The next step up (17-55) would cost more money than I care to spend on a lens at this point.

Photos are good, but title caught me--I expected a dog doing something on the grass in front of a church that would be, possibly, humorous or scatological.

Yeah...
I was trying to be creative with my title. I know, I know, dirty tactics (hence the smiley face right off the bat). Thanks.

I like the angle on your dog - shows off his great markings. Some of the other elements in the shot are distracting.
Church shot as it is doesn't do anything. I would guess it's a lovely subject - you could probably find some other more interesting approaches to it.
Love #3.

I know. I noticed my outdoor ceiling fan is all kinds of dirty. Also, I dropped the bulb cover changing the lights and I guess I really need to get around to replacing it.
What I love about this pic is that I was able to get a good exposure of my black dog (which can be difficult), and capture some real expression in his eyes. So having both of those in one pic of my dog made me happy.

I was on my way into a wedding and snapped it real quick. I was not the photographer or anything, I just had my camera with me. I was really impressed with the size of the steeple, so basically that was my perspective on the way in. But I agree with you here and would have loved to have spent more time finding a nice shot. Still, it was a tall steeple. And I like the geometry and textures of the pic. It's very dimensional for what it is.
Love #3.
Thanks!
