In AV TV and P modes my exposure meter is locked @ 2 dots below the center line. Any idea what I did to get this setting? No matter what I change the shutter speed to, or the aperature, it remains there. Help =) Thanks
PS its the Rebel XT

Do you mean two dots to the left of the center line? If so, what you did was set your EC to -2/3 stop. You probably half pressed the shutter button and then inadvertently turn the big dial at the back counter clockwise to set the EC. To set the EC back to 0 and hence make the meter needle move back to center, half press the shutter button and then turn the big dial in the back clockwise until the needle of the meter is centered.
In Av, Tv and P modes, the meter needel will not move except when you set the EC.

Change out of M mode on the dial, switch it to P until you've read the manual. Check the lens cap's off ;)

Yep that sounds like it, what is the camera, if you are not going to use EC, and own a 20D, make sure you only switch the camers to the 'On' position, not the one above that which activates the rear command wheel. The command wheel is used for EC by default when on. On the 10D it is a seperate switch to turn the command wheel on and off.
I tend to play with it a bit when board, just have to make sure I don't make any EC changes (it is now in my 'preflight check').

I see, thanks so much. I was really going crazy playing around and had no idea what the heck I did so, thanks for saving me. Maybe someday I'll know when to use EC =)
Not bad advice Tim, thanks ;)
