Hi all,

This is my first post here. I just received my new rebel xt and have a small question. This is about the burst speed. I do believe that according to the manual you sould be able to do a burst of 14 or images at hight JPG resolution. I just tested this out and using a regular sandisk 1gb card, I kept holding the shutter button, and gave up after about 60 shots  without the shutter slowing down any. I tested the same thing with a sandisk ultra 2 1gb card, and there was no difference.

You're complaining because it can do 60 instead of 14? Fast cards let the buffer empty quickly, so you end up being able to shoot for longer than the manual says. I've never used that feature when i'm taking event photos, it might be handy for sports shooters, not much for others.

Oh no, I'm not complaining at all. Just curious. Whe I've read about the higher speed cards, I figured I'll get ultra 2 for normal use and the regular just as a backup. But in this camera it doesn't seem to make a difference.

anyways vettn, congrats on your purchase, you have a very capable camera now. Plus you got something more than the camera specs mentioned ;)
Enjoy playing with it :-)
