OK here is a new 'Show us your...' thread!
Just reading about people getting their hands on new toys in the EOS forum, and I thought, what was everyone elses first shot on their cameras when they got them?
I picked up my 20D during the day after comming back from a client, fortunatly I already had a charged battery from my G3 on me, so I was able to have play, so I chatting with one of the guys at work over the partition, and asked him to give me his best face, and he would have the honour of being my 20D's first subject!
So here it is:

Does anyone else still have theirs?

Would #4 count? My 20D arrived when my kids had chickenpox. I don't think they'd appreciate it very much if I posted those pictures...
So you get the Diet Coke can... ;)

I just got done charging the battery and turned it on. My daughter was en route to attack me and my new toy with her shoes, this is what resulted.

First picture out of the camera, taken with the kit lens. 2-22-05. I've learned a lot since then.

I took the DSLR plunge in April 2003. I can remember getting the 10D and thought, wow am I ever going to figure this thing out. I took a drive along the lakeshore in Montreal on the way to work and it was an eerie looking morning but snapped a few off. Here is one from my first card of shooting.

I go back now and look at some of the shots I took then and say to myself, man you were bad.

Hubby's going to kill me for this one. This is the number one shot I took with the 350D when I got it (batteries charged, hubby sleeping.... well, what the heck, why not). He just hates me taking pictures of him sleeping, but he should know better than to fall asleep when I have a new toy in my hand.

The first shot I had, which was a non person shot (I'm sure my workmates won't like me posting a pic without permission)..
Anyway, I was expecting my 50 1.8 lens to be couriered from Christchurch. I ordered it one Wednesday, and received it Friday 4th Feb 2005. I took my 20D body into work that day, as I was expecting it, and just had to try a lens out! :)
So here is the BANK STAMP. Trodat.

And then on my lunchbreak, I went into the West City mall, next to my work, and went to Camera House, to show off my new camera+lens to the place where the best camera they sold was a 300D :p
And found this odd green shape object on the counter. I didn't know what they were used for, but I shot it anyway.
