Battery charger and travel adapter

Does anyone have any recommendations for good travel adapters. The problem I'm having is when the Canon battery charger is connected to the travel adapter its too heavy to stay in the power outlet and falls out.

Bring a heavy duty (at least 16 ga. wiring) extension cord along as well and plug the adapter onto the cord, rather than the chaarger. You'll be able to recharge (assuming dual-voltage) several devices at once that way, too. I haven't had a problem with my Canon or Sterlingtek chargers using this approach.

The Hahnel Ultima II (http://www.hahnel.ie/index.cfm?page=chargers&pId=42) is a fantastic bit of kit for travel. It chargers a huge variety of camera batteries (including BP11) and comes with a US mains plug. But you can add clip-in adapters for UK and EU. It also has a car charging lead.

But, best of all, it has a USB charging socket. With many portable devices now settling on mini-USB for charging (all major mobile phone companies have settled on this as a standard) it means that this one small device serves as a charger for my camera batteries and, with a short USB cable, for the majority of my portable goodies!

Blimey, I've just read through that and I sound like Hahnel's advertising manager (er, I'm not). But I do like devices that are obviously the result of intelligent design by people who really understand what the customer needs.

Some travel adapters fit the flat American plug extensions very tightly. They're generally black with a hexagonal shape. I've not had the problem you describe with those adapters.
