I have my first wedding coming up on August 29th. I got a chance to go out with them on Sunday to do an e-session, and even though it was gray and drizzling we were able to get some time outside. C&C welcome, this is my first time posting so hopefully I'm getting this right. You can view the

I am by means a professional portrait photographer. However, I have found that sometimes a portrait can be made more appealing when the colors don't jump out at the viewer. Perhaps try desaturating #1 just a bit?
I like the atmosphere conveyed by #2 and #5. I realize that the emphasis is on a sense of place. However, it is equally "We are here together in this place." I think I'd like to see the subjects as a little bigger portion of the image.
#4 doesn't grab me. My immediate reaction was that you cut off her face. Then I realized that the emphasis was on the intertwining arms. In that case, I would have cropped to just the arms. Everything else is a distraction (and out of focus too).
#3 seems a tad voyeuristic, but I admit that's just me.

I took a minute to check out the whole series. You did a really great job. I'm sure that they will be pleased and good luck with the wedding.

2,3 and 5 are the winners in the series ..IMO. I agree with an earlier post about number 1...the man's skin color looks a little too saturated. Great job for your first try though!

Thanks for the comments so far, and the criticisms have been helpful. I will try to adjust the color on the first pic tonight, see if i can bring down his skin tone.
I agree that 2 and 5 are fairly wide shots, I have closer shots for both in the full gallery but i liked the feeling i got from the scene on those.
I will play with the crop on number 4, make it tighter to pull the focus to their arms.
Thanks! Anyone else?

I love 2 and 3 and 5! I'm a fan of wide shots and use of dead space.... to me they make the shot more interesting (I get a lot of flak for that sometimes)... just as long as you have a range of photos and crops, I think it's great!
This is a great go, and the fact that it's your first just shows what you should be doing. Keep shooting! You have it :)
