Wedding second shooter

I want to get into wedding photography, but im not balsy enough to just do it as i dont have enough experience. So i want to start by being a second shooter at a few wedding for free to get some experience.

How do i go around doing that, do i just e-mail local photographers and ask them, do they take kindly to that kind of thing ?

What culture weddings??

I would talk to Baz from Five Rivers Studios. This guy is a great guy and he helped us get started in Toronto. He works out of Ottawa but travels all over.

2. Look in flickr for local groups, network
3. Check for local camera clubs, go to those, network there

a. Have a gear list to show that your ready to be a second shooter.
b. No attitude of holier than thou

Last week I messaged a wedding photographer on POTN. I am now shooting with them as a second shooter in September. Will be my first one.
