Lens recommendation for Bangkok, Hanoi & Saigon

Will be in these cities in October. I wonder if my "walk-around" lens should be my 17 - 55 2.8, or should I use the 70 - 300 4-5.6? How much use would I get out of a 100 - 400 L lens?

Any special photo recommendations appreciated also.

I brought the 50mm, Tamron 17-50mm and 55-250 to Viet Nam 3 weeks ago and the Tamron was glued on 99.9% of the time and I love it. Check my Flickr to see images if you're interested. Hope this help. Enjoy your trip and don't forget to watch your surrounding while using your DSLR in Hanoi and Saigon. I grapped the strap around my wrist 3 times everytime I use it with caution.
