Hi all,
Have ordered a new MANFROTTO NEOTEC AUTOMATIC MONOPOD - 684B

And am looking for a ball head to go with it...
Am open to all considerations,
Am also asking if anyone has used either
486rc2
488rc2
which are my first considerations....

Or would i just be better sticking with the 234rc due to only needing one way movement?

Kind regards all

Hi. This is my answer to same post down below:

Never liked small ball heads on monopods. Unstable. Went with the setup using $19 bogen 3232, ripped the screw out and put a RRS clamp on it as per:

Much more safe and stable. Just one person's opinion approach. J.

I just got the 486rc2 for my monopod. Works great; a well made piece of equipment.

I also have the 486RC2 on my monopod. It works great. Never had any problem with it.

Exactly. If you have any long lenses, buy an extra QR plate and leave it on the lens.
Enjoy. J

This is what I use on a monopod.. and now use the same head with an Aeca QR.. but other than the release.. it's the same thing.
I don't think a ballhead is necesary.

I use that head too, I can't imagine needing a ball head on a monopod myself.

I use that too, and between the head flipping and lens tripod rings, I can't see any need for the ball head. I'll save that for the tripod.
