Could someone please tell me if there is a way to change the "IMG_" prefix on the images to something different? I am running into serious duplicate filename problems in my studio, I am currently running 14 Canon 20D's ... any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated...

No, there isn't. If you use Breeze System's Downloader Pro, you can get them renamed based on a number of parameters (including, IIRC, s/n) as you download.

What about set a starting number .... like camera 1 starting at file "IMG_0001" and camera 2 starting at "IMG_0500"??????

That'll work, until Camera A catches up to Camera B, catches up to Camera C, . . . And you'll need to keep the cards with the right cameras, or they'll get all number-crunched.
