Telephoto distance compression

Is it possible to achieve with PS (Canon SX10is)?

I want to make the object behind my subject come out large... in which the subject at the front and the subject in the distance both appear closer.

Yes, it is. You just need to use the longest focal length you can. The further away from the principal subject you are, the greater the effect will be. This may mean you'll have to back away from your primary subject.
