Don't bet your house on it. The 1d3 is well overdue for a refresh, being outspec'd even by Sony at this point.

On aug 5th, the 7D was guaranteed to be APS-c and 8 FPS. On the 4th it was FF and 3.4 FPS. Hopefully I don't have to point out the inconsistencies....

if it`s apsc why call it 7d anyway?
why doesn`t canon leak some information to keep the users excited like what nikon does all the time?
it seems like all the canon rumors we are getting are just fanboy speculations.

Why release information early when your loyal fan-base can froth over the sketchiest and most unlikely rumours? :)
Saves the marketing budget ;)

Say that again? Sony doesn't have a pro model or even a sports camera. They don't have anything that shoots over 5fps and someone sony outspecs the 1D3?
And the 1D line's 3 year cycle won't be up until next Spring, so it's not "well overdue" for a refresh.

Canon hangs their hat on MP and IQ, and at this point even sony has much higher MP cams - I was referring to MP. As for a "3 year cycle", is is only the 1ds that has shown that trend. The 1d2, 1d2n, and 1d3 were on 2 year intervals. So, the 1d3 is 6 months overdue

Why are you trying to compare an advanced amateur FF dSLR with an aps-h pro sports model? With your logic, even every current model except the XS out specs the 1D3 purely on pixel count, right? You'd be a fool to agree to that so why say the a900 out specs the 1D3 then?
You're comparing apples to oranges. The 1D3 has twice the fps that the fastest sony does. Plus it has many more AF point than the a900. sony is a long way from having pro cameras because they just don't have the customer base to make producing pro models profitable.
And wrong again on the product cycle. For starters the 1D2n really wasn't a new model, just updated firmware, picture styles, bigger LCD, bigger buffer. And it came out 18 months after and before the 1D2 and the 1D3 came out so, yes it's a 3 year product cycle. I've heard nikon has a 4 year cycle for their pro model(s).
