This year Lieksa had renovated one main stage to fix mould problems, and as consequence I had less light than previous years and pretty ugly new striped veneer walls to make performances look good (NOT!) :) I concentrated mainly on two groups: Canadian Brass and Mnozil Brass. My favourite (and main reason for taking the gig) was Mnozil Brass, a musical theatre group which is a must-see act. They performed e.g. an incredible slow motion matrix-style fight scene, and things that you can not really tell using photos, like introduction of all musicians in band using trombone and rubber sordino. Their trumpet player Roman Rindberger has a 5D2. He said he loved the camera, and he films a lot with it.
I shot images mostly with 5D2, I really really like it - especially 70-200 is incredibly versatile with its true focal lenght. 1D Mark III was useful for reach and and when AI Servo as needed.
Thanks for watching!
