The alarm went off Monday morning real early, could see nothing so went back to sleep. Later I spotted this on the conservatory window. From the shape size and colour it had to be one of the collared doves that spend most of their time in our garden. I was sure it was when there was only one of them around for the next few days.

But then today the other one turned up with the marks to prove it was him. Apart from the marks he looks no worse for wear. He was eating and flying well so hopefully he will be fine.

I have put stickers on the windows now for any other kamikaze birds.

You gotta stop using the Windex!
Make sure you use a cheap no name glass cleaner so the birds will know that they can't come in your house!
Glad the fellow is ok. Once, a woodpecker ran into the side of our house. I put him in a shoebox and rushed him to the vet but he dies before I got there. And our house then was white siding so I don't know why he did it.

The window pic is bizarre! Too weird.
No doubt!
I believe I see two wings, two legs, a head and neck, an eye ball and even the beak that is saying "DOOH".

I don't think this guys memory was affected, the two of them used to feed at the top of the garden, fairly near where the window is, but since he came back the other day he feeds at the end of the garden while his partner is still at the top. So much for bird brains, he is not totally stupid, apart from flying into windows that is.

I wonder if that bird is any relation to the one that did this:

Shot that at my Mom's, in North Carolina, in February...

I came home from work one day and found a dead grouse on the ground at both the east and west end of our house. Yum, Yum!

Harry, two for the "price" of one, you were unlucky (lucky, if you ate them!).
Steve, an even better outline, did your guy survey, do you know? It looks like he was making last second direction adjustments when he struck!
