(( camera is not recognized )) EOS utility ( 40D ) !!!!

I had install :
Eos utility
zoom browser
photoStitch


but when I plug the cam 40D and trying to open Eos utility this massage pop up :

camera is not recognized

I dont have the other CD for 40D , I lost it :(

is there a way to solve this problem ?

Probably need to install the Canon WIA driver to get the computer to recognize the camera. Unfortunately I can't seem to find it on the Canon USA site. Perhaps someone else can help out...

What computer and OS? Did you install exactly as Canon says to, in that order? Has the computer previously recognized the camera?

Maybe you're not using a new enough version of the EOS Utility. I know I had that problem, when I tried using my old EOS Utility with my 50D after I had just got it.

I have Windows XP

when I plug my 40d to the laptop , the laptop recognize the 40d , and I can see all the photos in the card inside the 40d

I did install EOS Utility and upgrade it too .

don`t know what to do I need EOS Utility to recognize the 40d .
