Hi everyone! Some very quick questions:

Can the camera compartment fit a 5D2 + 24-105 (or 17-40) mounted? No hood(s).
Can the camera compartment fit a 580EXII straight up? How about two? (I know a 430EXII fits no problem)
Can the laptop compartment high / wide enough to fit A4 papers?
Can the daypack compartment fit a 70-200 2.8L IS no hood? The reason why I'm looking at this bag is because I'm a student and having a small daypack section for my calculator, stationery, water and clothes, laptop compartment for notes and small camera section for gear would be great when I need to bring it all to school.

Cheers,
Zexun

Hi Zexun

I can only really answer question 3. The laptop section is easily big enough to hold A4 sheets. There is also a pouch inside the laptop section which is perfect for A4. I use the pouch for folders that I keep my A4 sheets in. The folders are about 330mm x 240mm. The pouch is quite tight, but easily takes a folder with 20 or so sheets.

I use the main part of the laptop section for my laptop itself and also a folded shirt, etc on overnight trips. There's still room for a magazine lifted from the airline lounge.

Partially answering Q1. I have a 1D Classic with a 24-85mm attached. It is very tight, but does fit. There's enough room leftover for a travel charger and spare battery, but not much else.

Partial Q4. I don't have the 2.8L, but I do have the f4 L. It goes in the top compartment, standing up, hood reversed, it's carry bag. Plenty of room.

It's the main, daypack section that is my biggest concern though. The bottom, camera section and the rear laptop section both have two zip 'runners', meaning that you can open just the top part of the zip and get stuff out. However, the main section only has one zip runner and I always worry that some of the many items I pack in there will fall out. So, I'm going to have another runner fitted.

It really is an excellent bag and well worth this alteration for me.

Hope this helps.
