Walking past an alley way

was out doing some bridge and city scape shots and saw this alley way and basically snapped it and kept walking with out even thinking.

Use the verticals further towards the center of the image inside the red-circled areas (excuse me using your image to post) in order to correct the tilt. It appears to me that In RL they were the closest to the center of the FoV depth-wise.

I did not edit...what i did is like being next to the photo and pointing at two areas. B.O. At least I contributed something useful...psh.

I'm with Alpha Chicken. The photo is not edited. He simply illustrated very specifically what lines to use to straighten the shot. He's not editing the shot per se as much as he is showing him how to edit it.

Personally, I would use the horizontal line at the end of the long alley under neath the lights where the brick wall meets the ground. That was a little long winded, let me show you. It is much easier.

Just to keep in mind for the OP you generally want things to be correct horizons in accordance to the subject. With wide angle lenses, some verticals tend to be at different angles to each other and you don't necessarily have a good horizontal to use all the time. Horizontals out towards the edges start to distort as well. This time you were lucky and have a nice group of verticals and a horizontal to find just the right balance.

**O.T.** 3Honu, what do you use to make such clean outlined shapes? I tried the shape tool and could not get it to go into outline mode instead of solid fill. I was never great with the more illustration-based tools in PS.

Alpha, I went old school on this and used Paint. I saved BMP and hosted via imageshack.us. I did this because I wasn't concerned about quality as much as I was about getting the information out.

thanks for the point out on vertical, as said i was walking by when grabbing it and then just converted to b/w ill tilt image soon, cheers again.
