...Just happened to be there with family (and one of our 1D3 bodies)...

BOY, talk about a damn, fine place, to be truly proud of. Just a few snaps, no flash, no support/tripod, just cam+lens (all processed with FlexNR past ISo1600):

Here's the baby:

Talk about a "sexy" rear: :D

And a few more here (LM cockpit, Space Shuttle cockpit, central command consoles, cross-sectional view of tank, and others):

Very interesting stuff! Thanks for sharing.

...talk about a real pain trying to compose and frame an object that is already larger than life... :D

...And all this in the 60's-70's technology... Notice the Lunar lander/module cockpit's simplicity's yet overall clean and seemingly functional... pity that the front-windows were so tiny...

Cheers,

...Yes, it was a really great trip (already years living down here and never visited the place before, though...)

We missed a shuttle launch by basically just a few days...

The place is truly outstanding, it makes you feel truly proud of its overall conception, vision and work being done there... there is a professional profile from pretty much any venue of life, science or discipline... The shuttle processing facility is simply amazing, and this rocket was really something special...

As for the very last picture (minitature-size Shuttle), it was barely (truly barely) visible to the naked eye). Not because we were coming from a scorching-hot, sunlight-lit outdoor environment, but because we had already there quite some minutes watching a presentation...

I was pretty surprised with the AMAZING high-ISO image quality that I was able to extract from the 1D3, in pretty much sub-human conditions.

Cheers all,

PIX

That place is awesome, it's hard to believe how big those apollo rockets are.
