Hi,

I'm new to all this. I recently bought an Ixus V3 and have taken some great photos with it. Is there a way to put these photos onto a CD in a format that will work in my DVD player?

I view my photos through the TV but I need to re-use the memory cards. I do enjoy wacthing my photos on TV - is it possible to view them through the DVD player.

Thanks in advance.

Maria

I presume you are refering to a non-computer DVD player?

It depends on the DVD player. Some will some won't. For example my older DVD player will only play VCD formated CD and won't play files on CD-R. On the other hand the DVD I bought recently for my mother will play Audio CD, VCD, and display/play files on CD-R with MP-3, Jpeg and at least one other file format I forget at the moment.

So it depends on which brand and version.

If you have one that will play jpeg format then just cut a CD. If not but will play VCD format, then if you have the correct software you can create a VCD that would allow you view the images that way.

I don't have any clue which software to get for this as I don't really desire to use my TV for picture viewing.

Welcome to the board. Don't want to put you off, but go to google.com and search on "dvd player software pictures display". Lots of links out there. Don't use it myself yet, so can't comment.
