For Shooting Butterflies/insects Macro
Just received my flash unit Sigma 530 DG Super, so I am just playing around to try and get some starting settings to begin with. I am using a 50d with Sigma 150mm lens, as my bracket for mounting the flash to the side of the lens has not arrived I have the flash mounted on the camera shoe.
Here's my settings to start flash set at ETTL Camera on Av, 200 ISO, shutter 250/1, f13, one shot af, single shot, metering evaluative,
In camera flash control is set as follows Flash Firing Enable, External flash function setting it will not allow me to choose, which is TTL or 1st curtain ? maybe I don't need them ?
I am thinking to myself when I get my bracket for side mounting the flash maybe my lens hood is a bit long and might interfere with flash area.
I have been taking some shots which seem to be OK, at say 3 to 6ft
I have also winging its way to me a LUMIQUEST SOFTBOX
Any comments gratefully received Thanks
