New User - How to Change Page Header

I just found out about EE yesterday. I downloaded 1.5RC4 and after some trial and error got it to work. I have one simple question.

Is it possible to edit the page so the links that are built in at the top of the page can be removed or modified?


I searched for pages like header.php and removed the text that referred to these header links but when I load the page they still appear. Any help or link to file/site that has instructions would be great (did a search but did not find any).

If you are using english then the file you need to alter is:-

gallery/languages/eng/header.php

Thank you very much. I have to be more patient with wading through search results. I was so happy I finally got all the paths and ftp and so on working that I may have rushed through the search utility.

The header and footer are set in this order

1. misc settings text area for header and footer

if empty, then

2. languages/xxx/header.php and languages/xxx/footer.php

if not found, then

3. header.php and footer.php in gallery root.
