Well guys, to be honest...This was my first time shooting MX. I was using my 1DmkIII and 70-200 f/2.8L for the majority of the shots, and 16-35 f/2.8L for the wide ones. I didn't have a press pass or anything of the sort. But realize that it's the Czech republic, it was pretty much a free for all. I shot around 2600 photos, 90% of them were winners. I'm still sorting through them, but heres what I have so far. This was my first time getting the 1d and 70-200 dirty.
NOTE : these are 100% crops, the only PP is auto tone/contrast/color and a resize. I'm sure something needs to be corrected somewhere. But either way...let me know. C&C APPRECIATED!!!!

Was this in Loket by any chance? I was in the Czech Rep a few years ago on holiday but there was nothing on at the track at the time...i know what you mean about the "free for all" too ;) that's why i love the place so much :D
If i were to pick a favourtie i'd go with #2, but it looks like a bit of sharpening would make all the difference :)

It was in Loket actually. From what I understand, it's a lot less technical track than what the states have. I never watched motox when I lived there. Any tips on what to actually shoot for MX? I'd never shot it before, but I have a feeling I will again. It was a blast.

To be honest i've never shot MX but i'd kick off with normal Motorsport settings and go from there...i have a track not too far from where i live and keep promising myself that i'll have a go.
A bit of searching for MX threads and reading of other peoples EXIF info on here should sort you out with ideas.
This is totally off-topic, but a bit of Loket related trivia. The James Bond movie, Casino Royale was partly shot there. There's a shot of the Bridge & Castle in the movie and Daniel Craig parks his Aston Martin exactly where myself & a few friends parked our cars (not Astons sadly)...i was going to send him a bill but never got around to it :D

haha, nice. I had no idea they shot it in Loket, I'll have to go back this weekend. It's such a short drive. Then off skirting the western shores of europe in a 12 day WWII site journey.

#2 is my favorite. The orange really pops and the depth of field/sharpness make the bike/rider stand out.
Great job
