The most unlikely of motorsports, where a "stock" pulling tractor resembles nothing to be found in a farm field, and a "modified" carries as many as four supercharged engines.

A couple of decades ago I covered an event in the New Orleans Super Dome..... As loud as they are outside, you sholld hear what they sound like in an enclosed building.....

EDIT: oh, and if you want to "feel" loud... go to a fuel drag race. It can't be described.

OP... nice captures...

More than loud enough to need earplugs, especially when the four-engine tractors make a pull. The sound seems more intense because it bounces off a metal grandstand roof.

I remember going to these when I was little. They used to do tractor pulls at monster truck shows in the Metrodome here in Minneapolis, now you have to go to a stupid county fair to see them.

That's because tractor pulls have outgrown sideshow status. They're featured events (http://www.ntpapull.com/) with at least two nationally televised touring series. (http://www.propulling.com/) The county fairs where the pulls are held are major events, too.

There are a few Pullers based kinda near me. I have been dieing to do a shoot with them with the "tractor" pulling a plow in a field. With the driver in full racing gear of coarse.

Funny thing... I was thinking about these the other day... so I had to go do some digging around.
There is a relatively large underground for these things.
Do a google for "garden tractor pull" and your state/province.
Be surprised what you can find.
I found 3 different pulling series here in Texas, with events scheduled up thru the end of Oct.

The county fair here has kids pulling on the modified yard tractors as the pre-show while everybody is finding there seats.
