This is a co-workers car that I took a few snaps of.

Black cars are tough to shoot. Most of the pics lack sharpness and don't really stand out to me. With that said, I love #3!

I think #3 looks great! #5 is my second favorite, good job.

I like the way it looks in #3 & 4. I think you've lost a lot of impact in 1 & 2 by framing so loose.
Photography Composition Articles (http://photoinf.com/)

There's a link in there to a Composition Adjuster: This is a really neat Java app that will show your image with various "Rules" applied to it.

Nice job on the see-thru hood effect in #5. Very smooth - just the right timing on this one.

Another vote for #3 as the best.

3 is definitely the best. I like the composition of two though, in disagreement with most others. I think the arrow on the ground going right to the car is a cool way to draw attention to the subject.

As newton says a lot of these lack definition because a lot of the detail in the car's body is lost due to under-exposure. Check that left side of your histo and make sure the blacks dont clip. In some shots this is OK to clip the blacks, but when you are shooting a BLACK car as the subject, obviously don't clip out the blacks.

Thanks for the tips and pointers!
This was the first black car I have shot and it was tricky, the right time of day makes all the difference.

#3 in first, followed shortly by #5 for me.

I like em, #3 looks sharp. I'm not digging the wheels on the car though.
