Some pics from the last couple of games I shot. All with the 20D + 300/4L IS.

I've been experimenting with some tighter crops rather than always trying to get every body part and the entire bat in every shot.

Comments and criticisms are always welcome.

great shots. where were you situated when you took these. it looks like just past first on most.Yes. The way these fields are laid out, I pretty much have only about 30-40 feet to shoot from on either side, from just past the base to the shallow outfield. There is a tarp around the backstop which connects to the dugouts, so I couldn't even shoot through the fence here.

I've shot my son and daughters baseball and softball games and end up with parents wanting pics of their kids too. great shots espicially of the young man getting hit. My son's been hit 14 times in 13 games!

Thanks everyone.

Tom, These were all shot RAW in Av mode, f/4 - f/5.6, ISO 200-400, converted with Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop CS.

Pretty good moment, Only bad thing is the woman walking and the car in the bg.Thanks for the feedback.

I thought the fence gate was very distracting as well. I probably should have excluded that shot for that reason, but at their level there aren't many putouts to catch, and that was probably the only one I got where you can actually see the ball.:)

Phil, I think that you have done an excellent job. The crops you used focus on the impoortant part of the photo story.
Number three captures the human moment, I can feel his pain.
The capture of the put out is wonderful. Unless the backround is extremely intrusive I just don't see it. Hey it's a Little League game!
