Constructive crisitim welcome, I'd like some comments on them :) I'll upload the rest of my set later, Thank you Francesca :) Unforentely the backgrounds where not good all trees around me, and it was raining. Typical scottish weather.

I LIKE the trees and the lighting. .. it beats the heck out of cars in the bg and the hard light/contrast of full glaring sunshine. (in other words, don't beat yourself up over your bg and conditions... it worked out Great, in mho)

I think your images are quite nice!

Thanks,

I'm still getting to grips with my photography and i enjoy going to shows and doing this sort of stuff i love headshots but it was harsh lighting and it didn't help by the rain.

Thanks again

I always find myself trying to figure out what is going on with the horse when I look at photos like these. In the first one he/she looks to be paying attention to you. Eye and ear both turned toward the camera. There seems to be a little bit of anxiety in the eye; probably not quite sure what you're doing.

In the second one though, something else has the horses attention. It looks like there's a rider on because the reigns are tight and the horse has it's mouth set on the bit but, the horse has both ears forward and is looking in that direction. He/she looks to be very calm and secure in the second picture however.

I like the second one. I agree the flat light plays in your favor. It reduces shadows and allows you to control contrast in post processing. Trees are a natural element and are a much better background for horse photography than buildings and cars. If it was raining, I would have tried setting the shutter speed to 1/60 to catch the rain streaks.

I like both of them. I'd never have thought to crop like you have in the first but I like it cause he's watching you.
The second pic makes me think of a famous head shot of Arkle from when I was a kid.

Very nice. That's a unique crop on the first one, but it really does work well. I like the second too, but I must admit the bit has me a bit baffled (no pun intended!). It looks like he's got some green slobber, which would explain the mouth piece being green, but is the whole bit green? I've never seen a green bit before and was wondering if it either a Scottish thing or maybe my monitor ;-). Or maybe it's just the green trees in the background that are confusing my eyes? It just doesn't look like your average stainless steel bit to me.

No your right the bit looks green, that is very very odd. Maybe it was the editing? I have no idea. I shall get back to you as soon as on the email. Thanks for the comment.
