not off, OOF, out of focus- looks to me like the focus was on the background, making the car softer.

Oh ok sorry bout that, bit of a noob to the lingo.

Yeah thats one of the issues that I have to work on. I don't know if in cases like that I should just throw my lens into manual instead of auto focus.

Any tips?

manual focus is an option, or perhaps setting the camera to one of the focus points instead of evaluative, so it focuses on only one point.

I use manual focus alot though, takes the guess work out of it.
