I think your link leads to the Petrified Forest, and we have established that it isn't that. I think you may be misleading yourself by thinking of it as a mountain. Oh - and it doesn't end in 'Point'.

This is (I'm 99.9% sure) part of the Painted Desert but this particular part has a specific name. There are photographs and plenty of references on the web about it. I'd hate to think that it was too difficult for you sleuths but, if it is, I'll have to help you home in on it - or give you the answer.

You know, it's amazing - you can never tell with WAIN which pictures are difficult to identity and which are easy. Many a time I have posted a picture that I thought would cause problems and it was guessed very quickly. This one I genuinely thought would go go very quickly! I didn't realise it would be such a stinker!

Not 'terrace'. The location is on the (inset) map. I've already said that it is very close to Coal Mine Mesa.

From what I gather it is pretty permanent, but it may have a price tag on it. I've been there maybe half a dozen times in the last five years and I think it was always there. I'm not sure if it has a name, but if it does, I don't think the name is useful. It's the place I was after.
