It is technically NOT the Amazon River but it IS the Belem waterfront; So you are correct, of course.
But I am frustrated that so many people that post on Flicker don't bother to give the specific names of places that the shoot.
In this case it is "Estacao das Docas", one of many interesting places along the more than 10km of the Belem waterfront.

If you look on the map/Google Earth you can see that both Dubbo and Bathhurst are far more than 100km from Newcastle (and Bathurst is SW)

I think there is no easy way to narrow down the winery where this sculpture (and one quite similar) is standing: De Iuliis Winery, Broke Road, Pokolbin (with an art Gallery named Butterfly and an excellent restaurant "Cracked Pepper").

Yea, I tried to narrow it down for a little while. Then I decided to post it on here hoping someone else would do the dirty work from that point on. I just found it funny how I wasn't the only one who thought it looked like a stormtrooper on stilts. Although, it actually looks more like a Boba Fett.
