You haven't got any Dutch speaking people in your lab? :) The Edam Museum has one on its web site but you need to page through (http://www.edamsmuseum.nl/schilderijen.htm) it a bit....

Pieter Dirksz was a Mayor of Edam and showed his beard to collect money for the local orphanage. Later he added "Langebaerd" (dutch for "long beard") as a family name. My paternal grandmother was a direct descendant: Suzanna Helena Langebaerd. That is why we were in Edam last year... :)
