The annual Edinburgh Cavalcade, as part of the Edinburgh Festival, was on Sunday afternoon. I managed to get a press pass, so I was allowed "route access" to get stuck into the centre of the action.

The Cavalcade was led by over 150 motorbikes and included the entire cast of The Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2009 plus many Fringe and Community Floats and Bands.

Here are some photos from the event. Many many more are available on my flickr stream, in the Cavalcade 2009 set. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ceejaycee/sets/72157621998145540/)

Please provide some feedback / comments / suggestions etc. Thanks.

Some nice moments, but odd crops. Shoot a bit wider, so you can crop / straighten in post.

Always hard to shoot a good reportage of an event like this; it's fast paced and very crowded. Much more difficult then getting a decent shot of a performer on stage...

Not a bad job, but you could improve by varying a bit more: Looks like most shots were taken from your height. Try a higher or lower viewpoint. Stand on top of something or bend down to get more variation and interesting images. Now it's just a recording of the event... Think about what you want to convey.
