Hi all, a short time ago, we rescued a puppy. The vet says she is a "brown dog". Anyway, here is a shot of her. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

He looks brown to me as well... :D
Looks like a cross-breed, but looks happy...

It's so hard to tell when they are that young.
The coloring suggests maybe some Rhodesian Ridgeback.
Do a google image search for "Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy" and see what they look like.
And congratulations on your new puppy! THANK YOU for rescuing her!

she does have the same back hair as the ridgeback but her coloring on the stripe has blended in with the rest of her so nw the only darkness she has is on her face and her tail.
Thanks for the kind words. she is a happy puppy

No clue on breed mix at this age. But I like the second pic. It should be titled "Respect Your Elders"

Her name is Margaret. She has some pit bull, but mostly a long lineage of mongrel. LOL

There is a fun book that someone gave to me so that I could ID my new stray. It's titled, The mutt Book..Decoding Your Dog's Heritage by David Alderton. Even if you just sit in B&N to go through the book...you might get an idea of where those "brown parts" originated. Enjoy your beautiful brown dog!

It's a fun book. Friends love trying to pick out their dog's body parts.
