I have a 20D w/Cannon 100mm Macro for taking product shots and I need a tripod. I will secondarily use the tripod for general purpose uses. Is this a good choice?
Any other systems I should consider?
I would be willing to spend an adittional $100 - $150 if there is a better way to go.
Thanks.

I have this exact set...it is awesome...for me, it went to limits of the budget, and I am happy with it. :D

Best bet is to go into a shop that stocks these and have a look in person.
Thats what I did and Manfrotto is IMHO simply the best :)
I have the UK version of your tripod and am very very happy :)

I have the 3001 Bpro (190 Bpro in Canada) with a 488RC2. Used it with a Canon 100-400 L without trouble. The 3001 Bpro is lighter and less cumbersome than the 3021 Bpro.

I have this same setup and recommend it like the others have.

I too have those legs and like them but, they are heavy (to me any way). If you are not going to be walking or trekking with it and your gear these legs are great!!! If you are doing some trekking get some carbon fiber legs!! The legs are great imho but heavy.

I'm hoping I've made the right choice. Got an 055 magfiber 3 coming on Tuesday with the 488rc2 head. Seemed good value, particularly the head. I need it more for macro work so all things being well I should be snapping away on the tiny stuff next week. Very tiny stuff actually, using an EF 65mm macro

Great combination. I would suggest that you get the long strap for it. That makes carrying it across your back (like an arrow quiver) fairly easy.
