No replies on my last post so I'll just keep trying. :)

A couple of shots through store front windows. A70 - program mode.

I just don't find the images that interesting.

The barbershop might have been more interesting if you had the barberpole in the foreground and then made the whole image B&W. I have a soft spot for B&W images where the subject is (or should be) an easily recognizable color. A rose, a barber pole, a construction barrier etc. It makes the eye try and add the color back to the image.

The second shot is just .. what? Is there something about the sled and the stoplight that speaks to you? Or is it just the reflection that caught your eye.

Fair enough - I appreciate the feedback. :) Yeah - I agree the barbershop is boring...

Being rather new to photography I don't see many stores with twin traffic lights displayed - so I found that interesting - my bad.

Thanks!

It's not a bad or good thing, it is what you see and what you like. The cool thing about photography, like any art, is that the viewer gets to define the image in whatever terms they want. The trick, in my mind, is to convince the viewer to see the same thing you see.

They're just "okay," even if the rest of us don't like the subject. They would be much better if you get yourself a circular polarizer to at least remove some of the reflections when shooting.

Right - no problem. Just the exuberance of a new hobby making me think I need to post these. :) I'll refrain until I really feel like I have something to look at.

No Daf, your missing the point.. Even though some may critize or actually critique, it doesn't mean for you to stop until you have what you percieve as perfection. By doing this you'll get to know what you should or should just leave out of a shot. Keep snapping and keep posting them, it gives us something to do when we can't kick the dog LOL

You should post what you like. You will find that some people give feedback like "nice shot". I am afraid to say I fall into that category. The down side of that is when I leave feedback like this the person has no idea why I think it is a nice shot.

When someone gives you an honest reply it will teach you a little even if you disagree. I am always happy when I get an honest well thought reply to a picture I have posted. That is why I post them.

Keep posting your pictures. From what I can tell you are interested in what I guess could be called voyeur still life. I'd like to see more of them.

The barbershop one would probably be more interesting if it had people in it.

Keep on posting, that is the point of the forum - to hear peoples views and to learn from it. Sometimes it will be positive stuff, other times negative comments - but then at least you have something to go on.
