Couple shots from a day on the the lake with some family & friends...

This was my first time shooting from a boat and my first try at "sports" photography.

First one horizon is not level.
Last one is really only good to keep rip on you skiing pal for the wipe out.
Middle one has some face but needs more PP. (colour sat, USM)

You also have a lot of boat spray which is distracting. Try going over the sides of the boat and getting the hard carves.

cheers

Try sitting higher in the boat, or maybe on shore, experiment with vantage points.

From the boat, I haven't had too much luck getting artful pictures, mainly photos for people to look at to critique their own form.

Here's my offerings of waterski pictures on my Flickr account (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lvidmar/collections/72157605274071840/).

Thanks for the comments... Actually I hadn't done any PP on those

Is this better for #2?

Better, but saturation a bit overdone.

They are under exposed as well. You have a lot of white to throw off the light meter. Try +1 exposure compensation to level it out a bit. The edit only makes it worse.

You did good, could be better, like the levels need correction and it could use a bump in saturation. Just basic PP.
Here is one i did.

Using Print Shop 20 I brightened it a lot did just one click of sharpening. As bright as it got we lost some detail. Just a quick try. Keep shooting those good action shots and post them for us to enjoy!
