I know the focus is not spot with 5,6,& 7. They came round the bend too fast so I had to prefocus on the track which was hit and miss.

Focusing on #7 seems to be fine to me as the middle bike (67) is fine. You'd have been panning for the 67 bike, so the one in front is never going to be in sharp focus. I have a sequence of 3 shots from Brands the other weekend for the Seat Leon Eurocup support race - taken at around 1/100th iirc and the cars are in a diagonal line across the track as they were braking for Druids. In one shot the 1st car is in sharp focus, another the middle one is in sharp focus and the 3rd car is in focus on the other shot.

If you mean something else then ignore what I said totally. I'm new here. :p

Thanks, any input is good I still have a lot to learn. I was playing around with aperature to try and get the first bike in focus and the others more blurred, I think it worked better in #5, the heat haze leant a helping hand as well. The one I posted in the SE thread shows it better as well.

They were too quick pan at Stirling where #5,6 and 7 seven were taken, good excuse to go back and get more practise:D

I tend to just use Tv for motorsport panning, or M and then locking the shutter speed and adjusting the aperture to get the exposure correct.

I tend to use M but then the conditions keep changing ie cloudy then sunny and you have to keep adjusting it which I am prone to forgetting...
