Health Problems....

Ok, so I have a studio and was wondering the best way to handle health issues. I have tumors that keep coming back and each surgery puts me out for 4 weeks. How do I schedule weddings? I have some photographer friends that would pitch in to cover me, but I feel I should pay them, of course I have to cover bills... Anyone have suggestions? Is there Government Aid or something?

I am truly sorry to hear about your health problems, but also am in admiration of your drive to keep moving forward.

Have you ever considered partnering with another photog? Being truthful about your situation, but developing the relationship where you each take up the other's slack / responsibilities, backing each other as second shooter, and sharing expenses may create a symbiotic relationship that is very beneficial to both.

I am right there with you, Ryan. I don't have tumor, but I suffer from a rare condition that causes my lips, throat, feet and hands to swell (angioedema). I personally have to work part time as a photographer because I can never tell when an episode will cause me to go to the hospital or at the least keep me in bed.

Cancer really sucks. Sorry to hear about your situation. If your up for changing your lifestyle you might look into a RAW food diet it can also be called live or life food. My Mom is way into and and is doing a speak on it in my conference room here tonight.
